Sony DSC-WX500 - Front

The Sony DSC-WX500 camera is one of a line of high-quality Sony cameras that have been designed specifically for the vlogger. It has almost all the characteristics that one wants in a vlogging camera. First off, it shoots video in 1080p Full HD, the defacto standard of today's display screens, and it shoots that video as image stabilsed by both optical lens-shift and electronic mechanisms to produce a very steady picture during normal everyday activities. The lens is manufactured by the premiere German lens company, Carl Zeiss AG, meaning that the quality of the images the camera can produce will be the best possible for the electronics. The lens also has a minimum focal length of 4.1mm on a 1/2.3" image sensor, making the lens a wide angle lens, which is important to getting as much of the surrounding scene as possible when holding the camera at arms length during a selfie shot.

The camera also sports a 180 degree flippable 'selfie screen',  as well as Wi-Fi connectivity (with NFC), must-haves for any serious vlogger these days. As with most vlogging cameras, the DSC-WX500 can also connect with an external display or a computer via HDMI and USB, respectively, and it also has a built-in stereo microphone that can record decent sound for online productions. The battery is the rechargeable type and will allow approximately 75mins of recording video when fully charged.

Overall, the Sony DSC-WX500 is currently one of the more popular vlogging cameras of today, which is not surprising considering its video-making capabilities, and as a result, a vlogger cannot go far wrong with this camera.
